Ask Google News about a brand, a topic or a person in the news, for one country and one language, and get each story's headline, source, date and link as JSON.
Quick answer
Is there an API for Google News results?
Google offers no public developer API for Google News search results. SerpCrypto fills that gap: set engine=google_news and the API returns the stories Google News shows for your query, country and language as JSON, each with headline, source, date, snippet and link. One successful search costs one credit, from $0.30/1K searches as of October 2026. No KYC; pay in crypto.
| Endpoint | GET https://serpcrypto.com/api/v1/search?engine=google_news&q=… |
|---|---|
| Array returned | news_results: position, title, link, source, date, snippet, thumbnail |
| Freshness filter | period=h (past hour), d (day), w (week), m (month), y (year) |
| Targeting | gl for the country edition, hl for the language |
| Price | 1 credit per search; 25,000 searches for $18.75, 100,000 searches for $56.25 |
| Payment | BTC, USDT, USDC, ETH, SOL, LTC; no KYC |
It returns a news_results array, one object per story, in the order Google News listed them. A story keeps its original link, so you read or cite the publisher's own page.
| Field | Meaning |
|---|---|
position | Rank in the list |
title | Headline as shown |
link | URL of the article on the publisher's site |
source | Publisher name |
date | Publication time as Google News displays it |
snippet | Short extract when shown |
thumbnail | URL of the small image when shown |
The API returns headlines and links, not the full text of articles. Articles belong to their publishers; follow the link to read them.

Teams that must know quickly when something is published about a name or a topic use it. The most common cases are these:
Set gl to the country and hl to the language. gl=de&hl=de returns the German edition, gl=in&hl=en the English-language edition for India, and gl=br&hl=pt-BR Brazilian Portuguese.
The same story can rank very differently between editions, so a global brand usually checks its three to five largest markets separately. Each edition is one search. The locations page lists the codes.
Check as often as you need to react. Hourly checks with period=h suit crisis watch and trading desks; a daily check with period=d suits most brand reports.
The maths is simple: searches per month = queries × editions × checks per day × 30. Twenty brand and product names in one edition checked every hour is 20 × 24 × 30 = 14,400 searches a month. The same set checked once a day is 600. 25,000 searches ($18.75) cover the hourly setup for more than a month, and credits never expire.
Google News costs one credit per successful search, like every other engine. 10,000 searches cost $7.50 and 100,000 searches cost $56.25, as of October 2026.

No. Google does not offer a public developer API for Google News search results. Independent SERP APIs such as SerpCrypto run the search and return the results page as structured JSON.
No. The API returns the headline, source, date, snippet, thumbnail and link. The article itself belongs to its publisher; follow link to read it under the publisher's terms.
Searches run at request time, so you get what Google News lists at that moment. Add period=h to keep only stories from the past hour, or period=d for the past day.
Yes. Pass title, source, date and link to the model and ask it to cite the link it relies on. The AI agents page shows how to keep the context small.
