Use case · local search · as of October 2026
Local rankings change from one city to the next, and the map pack changes even more. Set the location parameter and read what a searcher there sees, without travelling or guessing.
Quick answer
How can I check local Google results and the map pack for another city?
Send the query to a SERP API with a city-level location, such as Denver, Colorado, United States. SerpCrypto returns the Google results page that location gets, with the map pack in local_results (name, address, rating, review count, category), for one credit per search from $0.30/1K searches as of October 2026. No KYC; pay in crypto.
| Location parameter | location=City, Region, Country, plus gl and hl |
|---|---|
| Map pack data | local_results: position, title, address, rating, reviews, type |
| Full Maps listings | engine=google_maps: also phone, website, opening hours, coordinates |
| Devices | Desktop or mobile (device=mobile) |
| Price | 1 credit per search; 25,000 searches for $18.75, 100,000 searches for $56.25 |
| Payment | BTC, USDT, USDC, ETH, SOL, LTC; no KYC |
For queries with local intent, Google ranks businesses by relevance, distance and popularity, so the searcher's location changes the answer. A query such as "emergency plumber" or "pediatric dentist" shows different map packs in two suburbs of the same metro area, and often different organic results too.
This is why a ranking checked from your office, or from a generic national search, tells you little about a client's market. You need the page as it looks from each place that matters to the business.
The map pack is the block of about three businesses with a small map inside the normal Google results page. Google Maps is the separate map search, which lists many more places with more detail.
Map pack (engine=google) | Maps search (engine=google_maps) | |
|---|---|---|
| Where it appears | Inside the web results page | On the Maps search |
| Businesses per search | Usually 3 | A full list |
| Fields | Name, address, rating, reviews, category | Same, plus phone, website, hours, coordinates |
| Best for | Visibility in web search | Audits, competitor lists, data on places |
Both cost one credit per search. The Google Maps API page covers the Maps engine in detail.
Pick the queries and the places, then run one search per query and place. Record two numbers for each: the map pack position of the business, and its organic position.

Count one search per query, place and check. Ten queries in five cities checked weekly is 10 × 5 × 4 = 200 searches a month; the same set checked daily is 1,500. Adding mobile doubles either figure.
At that scale, 10,000 searches ($7.50) covers a single business for months. An agency with 40 clients, 15 queries and 4 places each, checked weekly, needs about 9,600 searches a month, which 100,000 searches ($56.25) covers for about ten months. Credits never expire, so seasonal clients cost nothing between campaigns.

In every plan: Every engine at 1 credit per search · Failed requests not charged · Credits never expire · Country, language, city and device targeting
Use the most precise place name that Google recognises, such as a suburb or a district written as District, City, Region, Country. City-level names are the most reliable; very small areas may resolve to the nearest larger place.
Not always. The phone layout can show the pack higher on the page and with different businesses. Run a second search with device=mobile when mobile matters to the client; it is a separate credit.
Yes, from the Maps engine. Set engine=google_maps and each place in local_results includes phone, website, hours and coordinates when Google shows them. See the Google Maps API.
No. The API reads public search results only. It does not connect to Business Profile accounts, so you never share client logins with us.
