Quick answer
What may I use the SerpCrypto SERP API for?
Use SerpCrypto for SEO and rank tracking, market and academic research, price and ad monitoring, brand and news monitoring, AI agents and LLM grounding, and app testing. Not allowed: Searches meant to find, track or harass a private person, child sexual abuse material, spam, fraud, and any use that breaks the law where you or we operate. Abuse reports are reviewed by a person, and confirmed abuse leads to suspension. This policy is part of the terms of service and applies to every account, with or without an email.
1. Who does this policy apply to?
It applies to every SerpCrypto account, every API key and every person or program that sends requests with a key. If you build a product on top of the API, you are responsible for how your own users use it. Your users must follow rules at least as strict as these.
2. Which uses are welcome?
- SEO and rank tracking: positions of your pages and your clients' pages by keyword, country, city and device.
- Market and academic research: how results, ads and SERP features change across places, languages and time.
- Price and ad monitoring: shopping listings and ads shown for a product or a brand name.
- Brand and news monitoring: headlines and results that mention a company, a product or a public topic.
- AI agents and LLM grounding: a web search tool that gives a model current sources to cite.
- App and website QA: checking how a page or listing appears in results in a given market.
This list is not exhaustive. A use that resembles these and breaks no rule below is fine.
3. What is not allowed?
The following uses are banned on every account: Searches meant to find, track or harass a private person, child sexual abuse material, spam, fraud, and any use that breaks the law where you or we operate.
In particular, you may not use the API or its results to:
- build a profile of a private individual, locate them, or harass, threaten or shame anyone;
- support credential theft, account takeover, payment fraud or impersonation of a person or a company;
- generate or target spam, including bulk messages to addresses or numbers found in results;
- search for child sexual abuse material, which we report to the competent authorities;
- run any activity that is illegal where you operate or where we operate.
When in doubt, ask [email protected] before you start, not after.
4. Can I resell results or build a product on them?
You may build and sell your own product on top of the API, such as a rank tracker, a research dashboard or an AI assistant. Your product must add its own function, and your users must accept rules at least as strict as this policy.
You may not resell raw access to the API as if it were your own search API without a written agreement with us. That includes passing our JSON through unchanged to paying third parties under your name, or sharing your API key with other customers.
5. What about personal data that appears in results?
Search results can contain names, business addresses, phone numbers and other personal data that the engine displays. When you store or process that data, you are the party responsible for doing it lawfully, for example under the GDPR in the EU or the UK. Collect only what your purpose needs and keep it no longer than necessary.
6. How do we handle abuse?
Abuse reports are reviewed by a person, and confirmed abuse leads to suspension. A typical case goes like this:
- We read the report and the request logs we hold for the account (see the privacy policy for what they contain and for how long).
- If the case is unclear, we write to the account's email when one is set, or pause its keys and wait for a support message.
- If abuse is confirmed, we suspend the account. Unused credits on an account closed for a breach of this policy are lost.
Child sexual abuse material is handled at once and reported. We disclose records to authorities only when the law requires it.
7. How do I report abuse?
Write to [email protected]. Include what you saw, when you saw it (date, time and time zone), and any evidence that links it to SerpCrypto, such as a request ID from a search_metadata.id field. A person reads every report. We may not be able to tell you the outcome, because account details stay private.
8. Can this policy change?
Yes. We publish any change on this page with a new date and record it in the changelog. A change that bans a use you rely on is announced there before it applies, so you can move your workload or ask for the remaining credits to be handled under the terms of service.
